Cannes Film Market in France is hosting Iran feature ‘Silence, the Cochlea’.

Iranian feature film ‘Silence, the Cochlea’ has gone for international sales at the Cannes Film Market (Marche du Film) in France.

While the film market event at Cannes opens on June 22, Behrang Dezfoulizadeh’s directorial debut announces its presence at the market’s 61th edition.

‘Silence, the Cochlea’ is a social narrative of a woman and a mother who is oscillating constantly between her emotions and her logic.

The film depicts a deaf couple who are looking for a cochlea implantation for their deaf kid.

Hanieh Tavassoli, Mehran Ahmadi, Mohsen Kiaee and Pedram Sharifi are the main members of the cast.

Iranian acclaimed documentary ‘Sunless Shadows’ by Mehrdad Oskouee, ‘A Hero’ by Asghar Farhadi, Ebrahim Irajzad’s ‘Killer Spider’ and Kaveh Sajjadi’s ‘Headless’ are some other Iranian films to attend the Marche du Film of the Cannes.

The Marché du Film is an annual event for the professionals in the film industry to connect.

Filmmakers, buyers, distributors and others come see the event as an opportunity to introduce their works and connect to each other.

The business event, which holds online this year over COVID-19 pandemic, kicked off on June 22 and it is slated to wrap up on June 26, 2020.
